BLOG   | Edit | The next James Bond film, Quantum Of Solace, is to be released ahead of schedule - on 31 October. The BBC reports that the 22nd instalment in the franchise was due to be released a week later on 7 November, but filming has already been completed in America and Panama, with the rest of the globetrotting shoot set to take place in Chile, Australia and Italy....

The 22nd film in the series, and Daniel Craig's second outing as 007, had been due for release on 7 November. The title of the film, which follows on from 2006's Casino Royale, is taken from a short story published by Bond creator Ian Fleming in 1960. Filming has already taken place in Panama and the United States. The main film shoot, with Marc Forster directing, began at Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire, in January.

BBC One's Breakfast programme broadcast exclusive footage on Wednesday of the cast and crew on location in Panama City and the Californian desert.

The desert scenes were shot in such a remote location that three helicopter trips had to be made every time equipment and crew had to be moved.

An old ruin in Panama City is shown before and after it was transformed into a key party scene featuring Ukrainian former model Olga Kurylenko playing Bond girl Camille.

The Panama scenes also involve British Bond girl Gemma Arterton, who plays MI6 Agent Fields.

"It was great working on the streets of Panama because you get a sense of what the real Panama City's like," she said. "They've got so much life and character to them."

Further filming will take place at locations including Chile, Austria and Italy.

In January, Craig said the title Quantum of Solace made reference to how Bond's heart was broken at the end of Casino Royale.

"Ian Fleming had written about relationships," he said.

"When they go wrong, when there's nothing left, when the spark has gone, when the fire's gone out, there's no quantum of solace.

"And at the end of the last movie, Bond has the love of his life taken away from him and he never got that quantum of solace."

Craig said the new film would follow 007 as he goes out "to find the guy who's responsible" for her death.
